25 Down, 15 To Go

Claire claims a stranger on the street can now tell I'm pregnant!

I went to the doctor this morning, the baby's heartbeat was 138-142 and my fundus height was right on target at 24 mm. I've gained 15 lbs so far-yikes, it is piling on really fast these days! I hope it slows down, soon. But, the doctor said everything is right on track.

The nursery room is now cleared of the queen sized bed and dresser (ummm, after Jeff took a saw to the box spring in order to get it into the basement), ready for the crib and changing table. Jeff might even paint the walls and ceiling this weekend! We're still debating on weather or not to buy neutral bedding before the baby is born, or buy gender specific bedding afterwards. We are planning to have the baby sleep in a bassinet in our room for a little while, so don't technically need the nursery completed before birth. Decisions, decisions!

We had a mentally and physically exhausting weekend with Claire. We were very busy for three days, talking babies and bikes as predicted. She got a good start on shopping for her summer necessities and Jeff and I were able to unload some extra bike stuff on her.

Busy, Busy

I know it's been a long while since the last post, but we've just been so busy... None of this is really baby related, but I thought the troops would get restless if I didn't post something new soon!

Jeff and I went to Utah to see his family, as a belated 'holiday gathering.' The whole gang was there: (l-r) brother Scott, Dad Rich, Mom Carol, Shannon, Jeff, sister-in-law Emily and brother Michael.

As usual, the days were filled with skiing (well, for most of the group) and the nights filled with food, visiting, and early bedtimes. Emily was recovering from surgery and couldn't ski, so we were snowshoeing buddies.

I saw Jeff briefly, he even took time out for a picture!

We all went snowshoeing one afternoon, isn't the scenery beautiful?! Thanks to Emily and Michael for the great pictures.
It was nice to spend time with everyone!

On Friday, Dad and Aunt Cherie came to visit Jeff and I for the weekend. They had a car full of stuff to deliver. How nice of them to spend 4 days driving, just to visit with us for 2 1/2! We had a good time and lots of laughs.

Now we're gearing up for a visit from Claire this weekend. There is not doubt that biking and babies will be discussed nonstop. She's going to help us pick out colors for the nursery, and we're helping her get properly outfitted for her bike trip across the country. I'm sure most everyone reading this is aware of her upcoming summer adventure, but if not please click the link to her blog on the right side of this page. We're very proud of her generosity and courage, but concerned for safety and well-being at the same time. I guess I won't be sleeping much this summer for more reasons than one!

Next week I'm heading in for another doctor's appointment. I'll also pose for another belly picture as I'll be 25 weeks along. The previous pics were at 10, 15 and 20 weeks, so I guess it's that time again! And it has grown a lot in the past three weeks or so...
