35 and counting...

So here I am at 35 weeks-just one more of these silly pictures to take! It is getting hard to move, sleep, bend, sit, and everything else.

I cannot believe how fast the time is going, we're really getting down there! Next week it's time to get the carseat installed in the car and get a bag packed for the hospital already-yikes. We also have our last childbirth prep class where we tour the hospital, which should be interesting and useful. We've preregistered already, and have chosen a pediatrics office so we're checking things off the list.

This weekend I'll be washing everything; we've opened, sorted and put away a lot, but still need to wash all the clothes, blankets etc. Then I can put together the crib, organize the drawers, pack the diaper bag and other fun duties! While I'm doing this, Jeff will be hard at it outside (literally). He's installing pavers on our patio slab. We found a nice manufactured product that looks like cut stone, it should look great when done! With the bathroom and pergola done, he's decided to take on yet another project.

We got to see our baby at my 35 week checkup this week unexpectedly! (And we held our ground and did not find out the sex.) As mentioned, my belly has been measuring small at each visit. Well, this time I was smaller than the 'normal range' so they decided to have a look. The doctor measured the head circumference, body cavity, femur and amniotic fluid, all of which measured right on. The baby is estimated to weigh 2547 grams-about 5 1/2 lbs! The baby is definitely head down, with it's feet constantly in my side, and gets the hiccups at least once per day. Unfortunately, no pictures this time but we did see the baby practice breathing.

So, that's all for now. Just staying busy so the time goes fast.

Baby Fun

Before I get to baby fun, I've got some pictures of bathroom fun. Thanks to lots of hard work by Jeff, the bathroom was finished on Saturday morning. What a relief to have it done, now Jeff won't have to work every night after work.

Vanity before and after:

Shower before and after:

Our shower on Saturday was great. Good friends and good food, but there were some differences from my Green Bay shower.

There were men drinking beer and playing foosball.

And there were children eating cupcakes.
Don't worry, the men and ladies ate plenty of cupcakes too! Despite the cold and rainy weather, it was a good time and it was really nice to see everyone; especially those I haven't seen for a while.

On Sunday, Jeff and I set out to Babies R Us and Target. By the time we headed home, the back of the car was full of baby stuff! Below are the gifts from our shower and results from the shopping trip this weekend!

As you can see, we've got a really good start on all the gear we need, just a few more things to pick up and we should be set.

Quick Updates

Life has been really busy the past few weeks, so here are a few brief updates.

I had a great shower in Green Bay, thanks to all thirty people who came, it was so nice to see everyone again! There were people there from as far away as Utah, Minneapolis and Chicago-how nice. I was able to get all of the gifts back to CO, with the exception of about ten books-Mom and Dad will bring them when they come out in June. Now I need to get things washed and organized.

Dad was here for a week and painted our living room which looks TERRIFIC! He also made hundreds of trips up and down the stairs cutting tile for the bathroom remodel. Jeff is scurrying to finish that up before this weekend when we have guests coming. I'll post before and after pictures once it's completed.

We're having a pergola built over our patio on the side of our house, and once it's done we'll be having the patio slab covered with stone. There is a lot of pounding going on as I type, better now than in a few months! It sure will be nice to get all of these projects completed...I guess this is what they call nesting?

We're having another shower this weekend in Denver. This one is being hosted by our great friends Nicole and Joe. It's a couples shower and should be a good time. After that, Jeff and I can really get to work spending all the gift cards we received in Green Bay!

We started Childbirth Preparation Classes last night. Four classes, 2 1/2 hours each. Besides some deep breathing, we didn't learn anything too exciting during the first class except that blood travels four miles per hour through the placenta (pretty fast, huh?) and there is an Iphone application to time and count contractions during labor. Now I really have to get one!
