Week 3, and Grandparents round 2

Father's Day

Jeff had a good first Father's Day. He was 'allowed' to go on a three mile bike ride, then we went to a few bike shops and grilled out for dinner. What more could you ask for on a Sunday?

2 Weeks

Nora had her 2 week doctor's appointment today. Really, two weeks? Where has the time gone?

That's right, she's 6 lb 12 oz and 20.75 inches long already.

She didn't appreciate having her heel pricked for the PKU test...

...but it was shortlived.

She slept in this outfit last night, and every time I looked at her I smiled. She just looked so funny-our little strawberry shortcake! Thanks Stephanie and Arunabh.

Nora's Room

While my parents were here, my mom worked very hard to make Nora's room girly. She got her name on the wall (hand painted by Grandma), some butterflies, a pink lampshade with custom trim and a large bookcase for toys that Dad and Grandpa put together. Of course, we also had to buy some pink sheets and changing pad cover too! Here are the results:

Firsts

When you're only days old, everything seems like a first.

Grandma and Grandpa Come to Visit

On Monday, June 8 my parents came to visit. I think they like her :)

Jeff thought the sink would be a cozy place for her to hang out while we got ready, and she didn't seem to mind.

June 2, 3-It's a GIRL!!!

Jeff and I were so anxious for our baby to arrive. Finally, on June 2 (my due date) I realized the 'cramps' I'd been having all morning were coming every 6 minutes. Cramps-maybe not!

After speaking with the on call doctor, Jeff and I headed to the hospital around 7:30 pm. After being monitored and walking laps for an hour, we were sent home around 10 because I was only dilated to one (which I had been for several weeks). We spent three very uncomfortable hours at home before returning to the hospital at 1 am; this time I was dilated to 4 and admitted! Things progressed pretty quickly, and at 4:30 they told me I was ready to go...they just had to call the doctor in to the hospital.

Nora Claire was born at 5:41 am weighing 6lb 3.8 oz and was 20 inches long. She is so beautiful and is just perfect.
