Mother's Day and more

I guess the last time we left off, it was Mother's Day weekend. Nora was feeling better, though still not 100% but we headed to the zoo anyway. It was a great day to be outside, and she loves watching animals so we thought it would be fun. We were not the only ones with that idea...

We met the Berg family at the zoo, so Nora had some animal-watching companions, Rocco and Sawyer.

Nora enjoyed the train ride sitting on my lap.

She did not enjoy the carousel with Daddy, despite Rocco's best efforts to amuse her.

I guess we didn't take any pictures of Nora and I on Mother's Day; will have to remember that for next year. It was fun to (finally) have a warm day to spend outside, and I was lucky enough to get flowers from Jeff and a necklace from Nora!

We've had a string of cool and rainy weather this month. For a diversion, I took Nora to an indoor playground one afternoon. She enjoyed climbing on the turtle and going on the big slide. Nora really could have used an older sibling to take her up to the slide so I wouldn't have had to...too bad it doesn't work that way.

Sophie and Nora, modeling their matching jammies.

Just a few more minutes of playtime before bed...

And speaking of bad weather, I ran a 1/2 marathon on May 15 and would never had expected it to be 36 and drizzling! Nora and Jeff braved the early morning and cold weather to cheer for me at the finish. This is a pretty sad picture of both of us, but it was COLD!

You may remember when we used to take pictures of Nora every week beside this bear. Well, now she wrestles with it!

As another rainy afternoon diversion, I put Nora to work in the kitchen. She got to wear her apron for the first time, and made herself a pizza!

Wouldn't be pizza without cheese.

As you can see, she enjoyed licking the pizza sauce spoon!

And finally, Sunday was another nice day. Bagels anyone?

Or ice cream?

On Friday we're going to Chicago to spend Memorial Day with the family. There will be lots of photo ops, including a 2nd birthday party!!!

More Fun!

Once again, a collection of random photos of this and that.

One evening, before an after-dinner bike ride, Jeff put air in the back bike tire. The next afternoon, after arriving home from daycare, Nora picked up the air pumped, carried it across the garage, and began working on the same tire. Such a little sponge!!

Between Jeff and I, there has been a lot of running going on at our house recently. Nora has found she enjoys joining in the post-run stretching.

Nora loves barbeque sauce. Sweet Baby Rays to be exact (Uncle Bruce will be so proud.) She'll dip anything in 'sauce' including cucumbers and, as shown below, pears.

Nora came down with a fever last Thursday. We did a lot of cuddling, napping and watching TV on the couch on Thursday and Friday, none of which happens often! I got to see lots of Royal Wedding coverage while Nora did this...

Who knew drinking milk could be so much fun?

Running errands at Lowes, Nascar Nora loved the cart! Daddy did not.

Trying out treadmills at an early age.

Unfortunately, Nora fell in the alley while playing on Tuesday night. Her face was looking better on Wednesday, but it was a nasty fall!

As I write this, Nora is sick again, this time with the runs :( Hopefully she's feeling better tomorrow as we're planning a family trip to the zoo for Mother's Day.

Lastly, a few videos.
