To finish out this blog catch-up are the rest of the photos from our daily summer life!
As with other years, our neighborhood had a 4th of July parade. Most everyone in the 'hood walks/bikes/rides in the parade leaving little to no spectators :) In the past, we've watched but this year decided to participate. Jeff was working, so it was a welcome diversion for the morning.

| Ellis wanted that cake so bad!! |
Among all of this, Jeff is running like crazy, mostly in the wee hours of the morning so as to beat the 90+ degree temps that won't let up. I sustained a stress fracture in my foot the weekend my parents arrived; after 10 days of pain and swelling I had an x-ray and am now wearing a lovely knee high black boot...hopefully not for too long!
Nora is crazy as ever, riding her bike, swimming and always playing with friends. She says some pretty funny things like 'mommy, you're my best friend. Let's take a shower together' ummm...is that what she thinks best friends do? Nora is really starting to pay much more attention to Ellis, getting in his face and talking to him, bringing him toys, telling me he wants to eat, etc. It's very cute.
Ellis is growing like mad and still hasn't learned how to take a nap. Somehow, he makes it through the days with 1 1/2-2 hours of napping total, spread out over 3 or 4 naps. It's so frustrating! He used to sleep well at night (9-10 hours at a time) but now wakes twice a night for feedings. It's been a rough month sleep-wise. But he is such a good, relaxed baby despite the lack of sleep.
